Hi! My name is Megan - I am grateful for the trust you have placed in me to teach your children the competence, confidence, and skills of aquatic safety!
I am a Physical Therapist and have spent most of my career working with burn survivors, their caregivers, and medical providers on a burn unit and in an aftercare setting. My career began in Texas, working with pediatric burn survivors at Shriners Hospitals for Children and has continued through to my current role as a program manager for the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors. In 2012, my husband and I returned to the east coast to be closer to our family. A few kids and a few moves later...fast forward to 2019 is when we put roots down and settled in Upper Township, NJ to raise our family.
With the birth of our daughter in 2015, I knew that I wanted to enroll her in ISR lessons. We lived in Lewes, DE at the time and unfortunately the closest Instructor was in the Philadelphia area. I would frequently check the ISR website for a local Instructor with no luck, until 2018 when a traveling ISR Instructor spent her summer in Delaware, and I was able to enroll our kids in lessons. Witnessing the kids develop ISR Self-Rescue skills was incredibly impactful and I became a huge advocate for the program.
When we relocated to New Jersey the following year, we connected with Miss Jade and were able to help her get the program set up in Cape May County. I knew what it was like to not have access to this program and was grateful for Miss Jade and Miss Mia for bringing it to our region. I have always had an interest in becoming an Instructor and thankfully the stars aligned in early 2023 for that to happen!
I am excited to offer ISR lessons in this area, year-round and I look forward to meeting you and your family!
